Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport have enlisted the services of Carrera Cup racer Alex Davison to drive the No. 3 Commodore at Queensland Raceway.

The 37 year, who made his debut in the Supercars series in 2004 and last drove in the Supercar Championship in 2015 with Erebus Motorsport, takes over the car while still on the look out for a Pirtek Enduro Cup drive this year. Davison currently sits in third in the points in the Carrera Cup after racing last weekend in Malaysia.

“I’ve had limited preparation obviously and I’m going in with realistic expectations because I know how competitive the category is.” told Davison Supercars.com after the announcement.

“Rolling up at the last minute with no preparation you’re not going to put it in the top 10, but it’s probably a good thing because it means there’s no pressure.

“I’ll just drive as hard as I can, try to make the most of it and see where we end up.

“I’d say there’s a very good chance that I’ll be doing the enduros as well, that’s certainly the plan, but we just haven’t gotten around to locking it in yet.”

Davison takes over the drive from Aaren Russell who drove car in Townsville, in the ever rotating roster, of drivers to steer the No. 3 Holden Commodore.
