Hansford leads TCM non event

Just two and a half corners of racing were possible in the opening Duggan Family Hotels Touring Car Masters race at Bathurst, headed by Ryan Hansford.
Hanford led from pole and did enough to keep the likes of Andrew Fisher and Marcus Zukanovic behind before the race-ending Safety Car arrived for an incident at Griffins Bend.
The race start was already delayed by 15 minutes due to a heavy Toyota 86 crash for Lachlan Evennett at the top of the mountain, leaving a small window for racing.
The rivals from Thursday found themselves side by side again, leading the rolling start.
Hansford prevailed on the inside and held off Fisher, who had a tough time keeping the aggressive Falcon of Zukanovic behind.
Unfortunately, not even two sectors of racing was possible before the Safety Car was needed with three cars stranded around the mountain.
Behind the lead pack Wallace and Cameron Tilley were side by side and contact sent the Valiant Pacer into a spin.
The pair then made further contact on the kerb, sending the Chevrolet Monza airborne briefly.
Meanwhile, Martin Riseley never even made it to the rolling start after his Mustang pulled up at The Chase.
Riseley suffered a front failure that saw his front wheels shake from side to side.
Due to the condensed 12-minute window for racing, there was never enough time to resume the race.
However, Angus Fogg still wowed, rising from 31st to 22nd in just a handful of corners.
Everyone hopes more racing will be possible at 11.15 AEDT.
