Zappia to steer ACDelco dragster
The new face of the ACDelco Top Door Slammer is young gun Brodie Zappia, who will fire up the National Drag Racing Championship.
Zappia replaces the departing Ronnie Palumbo and will put the foot down in the rapid Holden Monaro Slammer.
The 20-year-old from Perth brings plenty of success and is one of the emerging stars of the sport as he follows in the footsteps of his uncle John, who holds the ANDRA Top Door Slammer record.
Brodie began his drag racing journey aged eight in juniors and rose through the ranks.
By 17 he graduated to Super Sedans, while two years later, he reached the heights of Top Door Slammers with Zappia Racing.

In the same 2024/25 season, he won the WA State Top Doorslammer title, plus finished fourth in the National Drag Racing Championship.
In March, Zappia made history by becoming the youngest professional-category winner in the National Drag Racing Championship.

At 19 he won the 54th Westernationals in Top Doorslammer and made headlines.
Now he hopes to make some more in the unmistakable blue ACDelco Monaro.
“I am honoured to join the ACDelco Top Door Slammer team and grateful for the opportunity to drive the legendary ACDelco Monaro Slammer,” said Brodie.

ACDelco Top Door Slammer owners Maurice and Mary Fabietti are delighted to give the youngster a chance.
“We have been following Brodie’s career closely and are impressed by his dedication, skill, and passion for racing,” said Maurice Fabietti. “We believe he will be a valuable asset to our team and look forward to seeing him excel in the ACDelco Monaro Slammer.”
The National Drag Racing Championship resumes this weekend with the Spring Nationals at The Bend.
