Seton returns to MSR

Cameron Crick and Aaron Seton

By Thomas Miles

Aaron Seton is returning to Matt Stone Racing by teaming up with Cameron Crick to complete the wildcard combination for the Supercars enduros.

Seton will share the #35 MSR Camaro wildcard at both the Bend 500 and Bathurst 1000 endurance events.

The son of two-time ATCC champion Glenn and grandson of 1965 Great Race winner Barry, is no stranger to MSR, having partnered with Jack Le Brocq to a 14th place finish at the 2022 Bathurst 1000.

Since then, Seton has kept himself busy by racing in GT4 Australia, where he races in the Pro Am class against Crick.

But now the pair are teaming up to take on the Supercars stars.

It is fitting Seton returns to the Great Race in 2025 as it marks a number of special family anniversaries.

“I’m excited to be back in the Supercars Championship and joining Cam Crick in the MSR Wildcard,” said Seton.

“We have raced each other for a while so it’s cool to join forces and put together a good programme and hopefully get good results at The Bend and Bathurst.

“From my side, it’s cool to be a part of Bathurst this year because it’s 60 years since my Pop(Barry Seton) won in 1965 and 30 years since Dad (Glenn Seton) was leading and with nine laps to go the engine let go.

“There will be a couple of little cool milestones, so it’s exciting to get back to Mount Panorama and share that experience with Cam, MSR, and all our partners that have jumped onboard.”

With his one and only Supercars start in the Gen2 era, Seton will adapt to the Gen3 Camaro during a test day on Tuesday, August 12 at Queensland Raceway.

“It will be my first time experiencing Gen3 cars; we’ve got a test day in mid-August to wrap my head around the cars and get a good feel for it,” he said.

Crick, who after debuting the wildcard at the Sydney opener, will get another drive at the upcoming Ipswich round, said it was a key to have a co-driver who has been staying racing fit.

“I’m stoked to have Aaron locked in,” Crick said.

“A big thing for me was to have someone with me that has done it before, but also actively racing something.

“Seto is beating me in the GT4 championship, so he’s driving and he’s doing a good job and that’s half the battle these days.

“Looking forward to teaming up; he’s obviously got a knowledge with his Dad and his Pop and he has been around a long time.

“I think we’ll work well together and hopefully we fly under the radar and get some good results.”

Now only one co-driver spot remains up for grabs being alongside Richie Stanaway at PremiAir.
