Brad Jones Racing’s mixed emotions

Brad Jones Racing enjoyed all of the emotions with Bryce Fullwood on a high and Jaxon Evans on a low in the Townsville opener.
Whilst Andre Heimgartner and Macauley Jones both made ground, the big headlines from the BJR garage were from the other two Camaros.
Leading the way was Fullwood, who shot from eighth to fifth and carried on his strong momentum with a fourth straight top 10.
It matches his career best of such results that was achieved from Townsville to Sydney Motorsport Park in 2023.
As a result, Fullwood could not wipe the smile off his face.
“Phil (Keed) and Jason (Bonney) are doing an awesome job on my car and we are gelling really well,” he said.
“I feel like we have really good belief in our little team and the boys did a mega pit stop.
“It would have been nice to qualify a bit further up because I felt like we had the speed to do that, but it is still a great day.”
The key moment to Fullwood’s day occurred in the lane when he went from seventh to fifth with an ultra-fast stop.
“That was all the boys. They practice so much and that is there time to shine and shine they did,” Fullwood said.
“We pitted the same lap and was a fair way off him (Davison) around 2s and that helped me big time.”
Meanwhile, there was more pain for Kiwi Evans.
After a first-lap incident meant his Darwin Triple Crown was reduced to just one corner, his Townsville 500 opener suffered a similar fate.
Evans revealed that in an incident unseen by the broadcast, a clash with Cooper Murray destroyed his front right and saw him retire after four laps.
“Starting at the back I could see everything unfolding in front of me,” he said.
“The inside line stacked up pretty quickly and I tried to avoid it, but rode the wheel of Murray unfortunately.
“Broke the steering and did some damage and spent the race in the garage.
“It is a shame because I did not have a great Darwin and this is not how I wanted to start this weekend. Thankful to the BJR guys, but super frustrating.”

'description' => 'The Supercars Championship, currently known as the Repco Supercars Championship, is the premier motorsport category in Australasia and one of Australia\'s biggest sports. It originated from the Australian Touring Car Championship (ATCC), which held its first race in 1960 at Gnoo-Blas in Orange, New South Wales. The ATCC evolved over the years, and in 1997, it was rebranded as the V8 Supercars Championship, eventually becoming the Supercars Championship we know today.
Some of the leading drivers in the history of the Supercars Championship include Peter Brock, who is often referred to as the "King of the Mountain" for his nine victories at the Bathurst 1000, a race that is considered one of the biggest in the series. Other notable drivers include Dick Johnson, Marcos Ambrose, Craig Lowndes, Shane van Gisbergen, Jamie Whincup, who holds the record for the most championship titles, and Mark Skaife, who has also been a dominant force in the series.
The Bathurst 1000, held at Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales, is arguably the most famous race in the Supercars calendar. Other significant races include the Sandown 500 and the Adelaide 500, which are known for their challenging circuits and thrilling competitions.
The Supercars Championship has grown to become a globally recognized series, known for its competitive racing and passionate fan base. It continues to be a major part of Australia\'s motorsport culture, attracting top drivers and teams from around the world.',
