SVG not helping Brown anymore

Shane van Gisbergen rates the chances of Will Brown at Chicago, but admits he will not offer his Supercars rival any assistance.
The NASCAR Cup Series returns to the streets of Chicago where van Gisbergen stunned by taking wins in his Cup and Xfinity debuts at the layout.
In 2025 he will be joined by fellow Supercars stars in Brown and Jack Perkins.
Perkins will be representing Joe Gibbs Racing in the Xfinity Series where the Kiwi will also make a return on Sunday morning AEST.
But on Monday morning AEST will be the big show when the Grant Park 165 is on the line for the Cup Series stars where Brown joins the man he replaced at Triple Eight at Kaulig Racing.
Brown already has one NASCAR Cup Series start at Sonoma and returns with high hopes.
Due to this, van Gisbergen reveals he will not be giving any extra tips to his fellow Supercars driver.
However, he feels Brown can certainly achieve the top 10 he is chasing.
“I actually spotted for him when he raced Sonoma last year, so I was trying to help him a bit. But this year, there will be no help because we are competitors,” SVG told NASCAR’s Inside The Race podcast.
“I know that Kaulig can put a really good car together.
“Even though it will be a third/extra car there, the car will still be capable of a great result, but it’s going to be hard.
“It’s not everyone’s first time there anymore and it’s only a short practice, so it’s going to be difficult for him.
“If he can maybe get into the top 10 on speed in qualifying, that would be an excellent result.
“Then the racing, he will see what it’s all about.
“He is a very good, capable driver, so he could surprise a few people, but you just never know.
“This series is so competitive and everyone is so good.
“It is not going to be easy for him, but he is a quality driver, so he could spring a result.”
The Xfinity Series race is from 6-9am on Sunday morning, while the Cup Series race is from 3.30-7.30am Monday morning.
