Cam Waters 12th Fastest in NASCAR Truck Series Practice at Lime Rock Park
Australian Supercars star Cam Waters showed solid pace during Friday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series practice at Lime Rock Park, clocking the 12th fastest time in a competitive 34-truck field.
Driving the No. 66 Ford F-150 for ThorSport Racing, Waters posted a best lap of 54.863 seconds around the tight and technical 1.53-mile road course. The session marked his first appearance in a NASCAR truck on a road course, following two previous starts on ovals in 2024.
Waters’ time placed him ahead of several seasoned road racers, including Thomas Annunziata, Gio Ruggiero, and Josh Bilicki. He trailed Connor Mosack by just 0.016 seconds and was only 0.770 seconds off the session leader.
IMSA regular Jordan Taylor topped the timesheets with a blistering 54.093-second lap, edging out Brent Crews (54.174) and Kaden Honeycutt (54.179). Other notable names inside the top 10 included Corey Heim (4th), Ty Majeski (7th), and Rajah Caruth (8th).
Waters, currently fourth in the Supercars Championship standings with Tickford Racing, is using the Lime Rock round as an opportunity to expand his road course résumé in the US after running in the Cup Series race at Sonoma last year.
Qualifying is at 11.30 tonight, and the race is at 3:00 am.
