GRAND ANNUAL CLASSIC PRIZE MONEY TO RISE

McFadden

By Auto Action

The winner of the 2026 Flying Horse Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic will have an even bigger reason to smile than usual.

The prize money on offer for the winner of the most prestigious sprintcar race in Australia will rise significantly to $60,000.

It is a significant 50% increase from 2025 when James McFadden drove to victory after an enthralling battle in front of a sold-out crowd and took home $40,000.

The winner will not be the only beneficiary, as every ‘Classic’ A-Main finishing position will increase in prize money as an additional $30,000 is added into the prize pool.

As a result, a competitor will walk away from Premier Speedway with a minimum of $2000 after starting the A-Main on Australia Day weekend.

The increase sees the final night A-Main prize money near $150,000 in total and $300,000 across the three-night event.

It continues the Premier Speedway Club’s investment in the event having already increased the Preliminary night prize money by $20,000 across the two nights for the 2025 event.

Now the latest news pushes that total to $50,000 having now added another $30,000 for 2026.

The prize money increase follows the significant work required in relaying the track surface, which was completed ahead of the recent 2024/25 season.

Having been first held in 1973, the 2026 Grand Annual Classic will be the 53rd running of the iconic event.

Admission tickets for the 2026 Flying Horse Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic will be available from Tuesday October 7, 2025.
