Walkinshaw Andretti United (WAU) has gone back to its roots with its liveries for the 2025 Supercars Championship.
After switching from white to back halfway through 2024, WAU has retained the dark schemes for both Chaz Mostert and Ryan Wood for the upcoming new season, which will be its last with Ford before the big switch to Toyota.
Wood’s look on the #2 Mustang is particularly striking, with the black, orange and white colours of Truck Assist offering a flashback to WAU’s successful past.

From 2005-2008 Walkinshaw ran the HSV Dealer Team in addition to the Holden Racing Team, with drivers Rick Kelly and Garth Tander propelling it to back to back titles.
In both of those successful campaigns in 2006 and 2007, they ran distinctive orange and black colours.
They have returned to the WAU stable in 2025 with Wood’s Truck Assist Mustang running a very similarly styled livery.
After a rookie season that showed some flashes of promise with a best result of fourth on his way to 16th in the championship, Wood is hungry for some trophies in 2025.

“The Mobil 1 Truck Assist Mustang looks amazing, it’s a level up on last year’s design, I am super excited to hit the track in Sydney to show the black, orange and white rocket off under lights,” the young WAU star said.
“It’s going to be a huge year, year two isn’t going to be any easier than year one so we’ve been putting in a heap of work to continue to move forward – we want some trophies this year that’s for sure.
“It’s been far too long since Adelaide, I’ve been annoying everyone in at work just wanting to drive the Mobil 1 Truck Assist Racing Mustang, so I’m counting down the days before the test and Round 1, can’t wait to get stuck in.”

The black livery has been retained for Mostert as well in the WAU flagship #25 Mustang.
Like Wood’s more colour has been added to the Optus backed Ford.
The last time Mostert started a season with a black livery was in 2022 when he drove to victory at Sydney Motorsport Park in 2022.

He will be hoping for similar success in 2025, especially after being unbeaten in a black car under lights at the same track last year.
“The fans loved the black livery on the Mobil 1 Optus Racing No. 25 last year and we just had to keep it for them again this year,” Mostert said.

“We’ve added a bit more colour which really makes the car pop, it’s an enhanced version of the ’24 car and I can’t wait for everyone to see it in person.

“The team has worked extremely hard during the off season, yet again, it’s about time we head out on track and show this bad boy off!

“It’s going to be a big year, Car 25 in ’25 has a pretty good ring to it, so we are all pretty keen to make it one to remember.”

'description' => 'The Supercars Championship, currently known as the Repco Supercars Championship, is the premier motorsport category in Australasia and one of Australia\'s biggest sports. It originated from the Australian Touring Car Championship (ATCC), which held its first race in 1960 at Gnoo-Blas in Orange, New South Wales. The ATCC evolved over the years, and in 1997, it was rebranded as the V8 Supercars Championship, eventually becoming the Supercars Championship we know today.
Some of the leading drivers in the history of the Supercars Championship include Peter Brock, who is often referred to as the "King of the Mountain" for his nine victories at the Bathurst 1000, a race that is considered one of the biggest in the series. Other notable drivers include Dick Johnson, Marcos Ambrose, Craig Lowndes, Shane van Gisbergen, Jamie Whincup, who holds the record for the most championship titles, and Mark Skaife, who has also been a dominant force in the series.
The Bathurst 1000, held at Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales, is arguably the most famous race in the Supercars calendar. Other significant races include the Sandown 500 and the Adelaide 500, which are known for their challenging circuits and thrilling competitions.
