Kelly Racing has confirmed its Super2 lineup for the 2025 season, reuniting Cameron McLeod and Mason Kelly to pilot the team’s two Ford Mustangs.
The two were teammates in the family run team back in the now defunct Super3 series in 2023, with McLeod to steer the Aaron Cameron Mustang that took a few victories in ’24, whilst Kelly will be looking to bounce back from a character building season – his third in the development series.
McLeod will be looking to build a strong back-up year in Super2 after competing in the PremiAir Racing ZB Commodore, and making his much anticipated Supercars debut in the Sandown 500 and Bathurst 1000 alongside Tim Slade.
McLeod and Kelly will reunite for Kelly Racing in the 2025 Super2 season
For McLeod, a 20-year old driver with a wealth of racing experience already under his belt, he says the decision to reunite with the team was a simple decision, with PremiAir not running a Super2 team in ’25.
“I did Super3 with Kelly Racing back in 2023, so there’s nothing new coming here, except for the car,” said McLeod.
“The whole Kelly Racing crew do an awesome job on running and prepping the cars, so it was no-brainer to take up the opportunity to join the team.
“The car had an excellent season last year, so it gives me heaps of confidence knowing the car is in good form and the Kelly Racing squad take good care of them as well. Its going to be a great year!”
With Kelly Racing having run a Nissan Altima in 2023, the team now has a successful season under their belts with the Mustang machinery, and Kelly is looking to carry on and translate his and the team’s learnings from ’24.
“I’m feeling more confident heading into the second season,” said Kelly.
“We’ve ironed out some of the bugs we had last year and I’ll be working hard to have a good, clean season. And maybe some trophies.
“We learnt a lot about the Mustang package and how to get speed out of it. Obviously, Aaron [Cameron] had a lot of success towards the end of the year, so hopefully we can keep that form going into 2025.
“My aim for the season is to maximise every weekend we have and each opportunity that comes my way.”
The livery and supporters of McLeod’s Mustang will be announced prior to the first test for Kelly Racing at Winton on February 12, whilst Kelly’s steed has confirmed that Fletcher Insulation will be his primary sponsor for the season
Kelly Racing will begin its Dunlop Super2 Series campaign at Sydney Motorsport Park on February 21-23.

'description' => 'The Supercars Championship, currently known as the Repco Supercars Championship, is the premier motorsport category in Australasia and one of Australia\'s biggest sports. It originated from the Australian Touring Car Championship (ATCC), which held its first race in 1960 at Gnoo-Blas in Orange, New South Wales. The ATCC evolved over the years, and in 1997, it was rebranded as the V8 Supercars Championship, eventually becoming the Supercars Championship we know today.
Some of the leading drivers in the history of the Supercars Championship include Peter Brock, who is often referred to as the "King of the Mountain" for his nine victories at the Bathurst 1000, a race that is considered one of the biggest in the series. Other notable drivers include Dick Johnson, Marcos Ambrose, Craig Lowndes, Shane van Gisbergen, Jamie Whincup, who holds the record for the most championship titles, and Mark Skaife, who has also been a dominant force in the series.
The Bathurst 1000, held at Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales, is arguably the most famous race in the Supercars calendar. Other significant races include the Sandown 500 and the Adelaide 500, which are known for their challenging circuits and thrilling competitions.
The Supercars Championship has grown to become a globally recognized series, known for its competitive racing and passionate fan base. It continues to be a major part of Australia\'s motorsport culture, attracting top drivers and teams from around the world.',
