TCR Australia announce new management

The TCR Australia Series will enter 2025 with a new category management rightsholder, with international motorsport promoter David Sonenscher assuming the role from ARG.
Subject to Motorsport Australia approval, the new right holder will start the role effective immediately, succeeding from the Australian Racing Group (ARG) who established the global series in Australia in 2019.
Sonenscher, a Malaysian-based, British native, is the founder of Motorsport Asia, a company which has established and managed the promotion of various national, regional and international motorsport competitions for almost 30 years.
He was the long-time promoter of the TCR Asia Series and has been integral in the development of TCR throughout the region. Additionally, Sonenscher is a full-time advisor to the TCR UK Series.

Sonenscher will assume management of TCR Australia for the 2025 season and beyond
Sonenscher will work closely with existing and experienced TCR Australia management to operate the series, and will attend his first TCR Australia Series round at Taupo Motorsport Park in New Zealand from April 11-13.
“I am proud to have the opportunity to manage TCR Australia, a series I have long regarded as one of the most competitive and professional of all TCR competitions throughout the world,” Sonenscher said.
“The series is taking a new direction in 2025 on many fronts, and I am committed to working with the existing series management, the partners and suppliers who make the series happen, and of course, the TCR Australia teams to take the series further.”
The move coincides with the return of the FIA TCR World Tour to Australia in 2025 and the series’ inaugural rounds outside Australia – specifically in New Zealand and a yet to be announced, second event in conjunction with the TCR World Tour.
TCR will headline the undercard for the Taupo Super 440 in New Zealand from April 11-13 for its first round of the season.
