Penrite Racing brings back the gold

Penrite 2024 bathurst livery

By Thomas Miles

For the second year in a row, Penrite Racing is going gold for the Bathurst 1000 with a new livery revealed ahead of the Great Race.

Both the #19 driven by Matt Payne and Garth Tander and the #26 of Richie Stanaway and Dale Wood will adopt the new livery at this weekend’s Bathurst 1000.

The team hopes it will bring similar success to last year where it was retained for the final three rounds.

The new look Penrite Racing will take to the Mountain.

After finishing fifth at Bathurst, Reynolds went gold on the Gold Coast, taking a breakthrough win for both himself and the team after holding off Brodie Kostecki.

The good times kept on rolling in the Adelaide season finale where rookie Payne flawlessly drove around the famous street circuit to a maiden triumph.

The new gold livery is Penrite Racing’s third special paint scheme of 2024.

In addition to the base black, a special silver scheme was created to salute the category’s return to New Zealand at Taupo.

Then most recently at Sandown the team paid tribute to Allan Moffat by adopting a variation of the 1974 Sandown 500 winning Falcon and the “United Nations” machine that took on Bathurst 50 years ago.

Now the gold is back and with a slight variation to 2023.

Last year the gold ran across the entire side of the Mustang, but now there is more black across the rear quarter panels.

It continues Penrite Racing’s tradition of special Bathurst liveries from 2020 onwards where it has adopted Australian flag variations in 2020 and 2022, plus adding a splash of fuel in 2021.

The cars will first be seen on track tomorrow ahead of Sunday’s Great Race.
