Toyota launch sales for GR Supra GT4 EVO2

By Timothy Neal

Toyota Gazoo Racing has begun accepting orders for 2025 on its updated GR Supra GT4 EVO2 racer, an advanced competitive beast for the globally expanding GT4 market.

The racing machine is set to make its debut in January of next year at the Daytona 24 weekend in Florida, set to compete at the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.

After launching its first GR Supra GT4 in 2020, an updated version then came out for the 2023 season – GR Supra GT4 EVO – with both models having won GT4 international races in 11 countries and regions, earning more than 500 podium finishes, and becoming the class champion in three regions: Asia, the United States, and Europe.

With no end spared to improve on the already competitive 2023 spec GT4, the extensive feedback from that model has gone into 25’s machine, promising improved performance, reliability, and operability.

More specifically, ABS maps were meticulously re-tuned by various drivers on circuits in Japan and Europe to enable optimal braking and cornering based on tire type and wear and the condition of the course.

Additionally, downshifting time has been reduced by fine-tuning the rev matching through a software update, leading to enhanced deceleration control during braking for increased cornering speed.

Also, in addition to improving the cooling performance of the engine, brakes, and drivetrain, cockpit temperatures have been optimised to make the car easier to drive even in harsh conditions, helping to maintain a high level of performance.

The new GR Supra GT4 EVO2 advances Toyota’s “driver-first car-making” approach, for leverage of development.
