BJR confirms Fiore for Supercars enduro’s

By Timothy Neal

Dean Fiore will return to the Brad Jones Racing garage for the Supercars Bathurst 1000 and Sandown 500 in the #12 SCT Logistics Camaro alongside Jaxon Evans.

Fiore will share the duties with Evans as he embarks on his first run at the Bathurst 1000 and Sandown 500 as a main-game driver.

The WA born racer is obviously no stranger to Mount Panorama having competed in 15 Bathurst 1000’s, which includes going under the radar with four straight top-ten finishes, three of which have come via the BJR garage alongside Todd Hazelwood and Bryce Fullwood.

“I’m thrilled by the prospect of supporting a young talent like Jaxon. I’ve been following his career over the years through Porsche and GT and he’s had some great results,” Fiore said.

Evans will have Fiore for an enduro partner in the #12 Camaro at the 2024 Bathurst 1000 and Sandown 500

“Jaxon and I also get along very well, we’ve been around each other for a few years, spending a few hours in the drivers’ trailer. So I’m excited to support his enduro campaign in 2024.

“Joining the SCT Motorsport program also means a lot that I get to work with Andrew Jones [Head of Motorsport Programs at SCT Logistics]. I’ve known him for 20 years or so and we’ve always kept in touch. So it’s great to get the opportunity to work with him.”

In preparation for the big one, Fiore has already had some recent Gen3 seat time at SMP this year, and will couple that with the team’s prep at Winton in September before the 500.

For Evans, his debut year as a full-time Supercars driver has seen him enjoy just the one top-ten finish in his home Taupo race, and the addition of some enduro experience to share the Camaro will help provide a steadying hand.

“Obviously very excited to welcome Dean to the car 12 crew for this year’s Enduros,” Evans said.

“He’s a driver with proven results at Bathurst and a wealth of Supercars experience. Bringing a positive energy to the team both on and off the track – I look forward to a strong campaign together.”

The endurance season kicks off September 13-15 in Melbourne before the big one on October 10-13, the Bathurst 1000.
