Heuzenroeder well prepped for Silverstone

By Timothy Neal

Young Aussie racer Patrick Heuzenroeder heads to Silverstone this weekend with a good run of form as he pursues his first GB3 Championship win.

The 18-year-old has just completed the intercontinental leg of the British GB3 series, with trips to Spa, the Hungaroring, and Zandvoort behind him in the #10 JHR Developments car, finishing off with a well earned podium in the Netherlands.

The New South Welshman’s run of form has seen him with four top five finishes in his last five outings as he looks to break through for a maiden international win.

The run of results has also seen him squeeze into the top-ten in the pointscore, with more room to head up the table with another solid weekend.

“Having stood on the podium for the first time in 2024 at Circuit Zandvoort less than two weeks ago, I am aiming to continue the same level of results at Silverstone during Round 6,” Heuzenroeder said.

“The track is fantastic to drive in the GB3 cars with so many high-speed corners that allow us fully to take advantage of the high downforce the cars generate.

“Overtaking is also much easier here than at a track like Zandvoort or the Hungaroring which should make for some even more exciting races.

“Overall, I am feeling confident about how well we can perform, especially having already visited Silverstone earlier in the season. That should level the playing field which will help me close in on the more experienced drivers.”

Right in the thick of the title race is another Antipodean, with Kiwi young gun Louis Sharp only 20 points of the championship leader – Polish youngster, Tymek Kucharczyk.

Sharp was the 2023 British F4 champion, and the well backed young ace who races for Rodin Motorsport will look to continue his rise up the junior formulae ranks with a second title as he heads towards a probable drive in the FIA Formula 3 next season.

Also on the Antipodean front, another young Aussie in Jack Taylor will be aboard the GB4 machinery at Silverstone.

The former Tasmanian Karter who warmed up for 2024 in the Indian F4 series has had a pretty consistent run for Fortec Motorsport this season, with six top-ten finishes placing him eighth in the pointscore as he looks for a maiden podium this weekend.
