Tickford shows off Indigenous Round looks

Randle Tickford Darwin livery

By Thomas Miles

Tickford has applied some Indigenous Round tweaks to its usual Supercars liveries for Cameron Waters and Thomas Randle for this weekend’s Darwin Triple Crown.

The Ford team has partnered with Yugambeh born/Bundjalung artist Shal for the occasion at Hidden Valley Raceway.

Both cars have retained their usual livery but some subtle Indigenous Round additions have been applied in the background.

“Our Darwin Indigenous Round livery, a collaboration with artist Shal, who drew inspiration from the Northern Territory’s diverse waterways,” a team statement read.

“The liveries capture the dramatic contrast between the wet and dry seasons, showcasing the intricate textures of dried riverbeds interwoven with the vibrant flow of waterways rejuvenated by rain.”

Tickford will be hunting for Darwin redemption after Waters took pole and looked unbeatable on the Saturday of last year’s Indigenous Round, only for a fire to bring him to a sudden stop on the exit of Turn 1.

The entire #6 crew will be determined to get the win that slipped away and they will be boosted by strong pace at Wanneroo.

After a tough start to 2024, Waters bounced back brilliantly last time out at the Perth SuperSprint taking a third on Sunday and a special win on Sunday.

Waters will be shaking off the jet lag after making his NASCAR Cup Series debut at Sonoma last weekend.

Tickford teammate Randle in the #55 is also in good form having recorded back to back top 10s for the first time in 2024 at Wanneroo.

He finished 10th on Saturday before being in the fight for a podium on Sunday and after a clash with Will Brown finished fifth.

Now both Tickford Mustangs are in the top 10 in the championship for the first time this year and are keen to make an impression at Hidden Valley.
