Victorian Hillclimb returning to Bryant Park

By Thomas Miles

Bryant Park is getting set to welcome the Trydel Victorian Hill Climb Championship once again for the rescheduled Round 3 on June 30.

The event has been moved to the end of this month and entries are now open until they close on June 25.

Competitors will be taking on the twisty clockwise short circuit at Bryant Park, Yallourn at an event promoted by the Gippsland Car Club.

The last time drivers steered this particular layout was last year’s season finale where Greg Ackland finished with a bang.

His top time of 31.81s proved to be 2s faster than Alan Foley, Mike Barker and David Mahon.

The top seven on that occasion were Formula Libre cars with Bradley DeLuca the top Sports Sedan in eighth in a Ford Angila.

So far four events have been held in 2024 and already opening up a handy lead is Mike Barker.

Barker sits on top of the overall points with 70 next to his name, 18 more than nearest rival David Mahon.

It is shaping up to be a two-horse race with Keith Wilson and Matthew Healy both a further 20 points adrift.

As usual, spectator entry is free for the event.
