Supercars supports Brown/Waters NASCAR debut

By Thomas Miles

Once again Supercars is backing its own NASCAR bound stars as Will Brown arrives in America ahead of Sonoma.

Less than two days after winning the GT World Challenge race at The Bend, Brown is now in Richard Childress Racing’s North Carolina base.

The Triple Eight Race Engineering Supercars Championship leader is racing the #33 Richard Childress Racing Camaro in the NASCAR Cup Series race at Sonoma this weekend.

It is the same entry his former Erebus Motorsport teammate Brodie Kostecki steered to 22nd place at Indianapolis Motor Speedway last year.

Just like that occasion, Supercars will support the car with a sticker supporting its online Superview streaming platform. It will also appear on Cameron Waters’ RFK Racing Mustang.

“We’re thrilled to support two of our sports stars this weekend as they make their NASCAR debuts, with the partnership promoting our international viewing platform, SuperView,” Supercars CEO Shane Howard said in a Supercars statement.

“This initiative highlights our dedication to bringing the exceptional talent within Supercars to a global audience.

“Following the memorable debuts of Shane van Gisbergen and Brodie Kostecki, which drew millions of views to our website in 2023, we expect a similar surge in interest as Cam Waters and Will Brown embark on this exciting challenge.

“This partnership is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the superior streaming quality and comprehensive coverage that SuperView offers to racing fans worldwide.”

Brown was buzzing when he arrived at RCR’s base.

“35 hours later and I finally made it to Richard Childress Racing!,” he wrote on social media.

“Unreal to get a closer look at the MobileX #33 in the flesh, starting to feel like a kid on Christmas.”
