The Supercars stars in the Clippy Cup

A selection of Supercars stars will go racing around Queensland Raceway in the Motor Racing Events Clippy Cup tomorrow.
Current title rivals Will Brown and Chaz Mostert will join forces with WAU rookie Ryan Wood in a #25 Hyundai Excel.
Meanwhile the reigning Supercars and Super2 champions in Brodie Kostecki and Kai Allen will team up in car #99.
The prize on the line will be the Clippy Cup, which is a 12-hour race between budget cars.
Whilst the fastest car takes the chequered flag first, the real winner is the entry that raises the most money for Rare Cancers Australia.
Four-driver teams will be in a fight of 12 hours of racing from 10am to 10pm, which includes a track layout change “somewhere in the middle.”

Mostert hinted about the drive at Sunday’s press conference at the Supercars Perth SuperSprint.
“I am a professional Hyundai Excel driver nowadays,” he joked in response to a question about racing NASCAR.
“I have a big charity race at Ipswich on Friday, pretty excited about that.”
The WAU Supercars driver then confirmed the full details on Facebook.
“Giving Will Brown a taste of nascar before he heads stateside,” Mostert wrote.
She’s second hand with low km’s, may as well have been from his car yard!
“In all seriousness, racing the 12HR for a charity race this Friday, should be a good time.”
Brown also posted the news on social media, jokingly mimicking Oscar Piastri’s infamous post from the Alpine-McLaren saga.
“I understand without my agreement Chaz Mostert has put out a press release that I am driving for him this Friday,” the Triple Eight driver wrote.

“This is wrong and I have not signed a contract with him. I may be driving for him this Friday.”
Kostecki also can’t wait for the Clippy Cup.
“Now that some other competitors have released their fighting wagon… Im pleased to announce our highly modified Lancaster Motor Group Hyundai Twin Cam Excel for the Clippy Cup race for charity this Friday,” Kostecki wrote.
Motor Racing Events host charity races all over Australia, with the last one held in Victoria a special one, seeing competitors drive on Calder Park’s famous Thunderdome layout.
