Susie Wolff files criminal complaint against the FIA

By Reese Mautone

F1 Academy Managing Director Susie Wolff has filed a criminal complaint against the FIA after conflict-of-interest allegations made against her and her husband, Mercedes F1 Team Principal Toto Wolff, were found to be unsupported.

In December 2023, Formula 1’s governing body launched an investigation into the Wolffs, alleging that the high-profile couple were sharing confidential information.

At the time, the Wolffs were immediate in their denial of the claims, with Susie Wolff strong in her opinion that the investigation had caused significant damage to her and her husband’s reputations.

Taking to social media this morning, the Managing Director released a statement confirming that she had filed a criminal complaint on March 4.

“I can confirm that I personally filed a criminal complaint in the French courts on the 4th of March in relation to the statements made about me by the FIA last December,” Wolff said in her statement.

“There still has not been any transparency or accountability in relation to the conduct of the FIA and its personnel in this matter.

“I feel more than ever it is important to stand up, call out improper behaviour and make sure people are held to account.

“Whilst some may think silence absolves them from responsibility – it does not.”

Wolff’s statement comes off the back of a successful first opening round of F1 Academy in Saudi Arabia, with the female-only series a supporting act to the Formula 1 across the weekend.

The second of seven rounds will come in Miami, sharing the stage with Formula 1 from May 3rd.
