No GA access to AusGP Supercars paddock

By Thomas Miles

Fans with a general admission/park pass ticket to the Australian Grand Prix will not have access to the Supercars Paddock with the category kicked out of the pits.

Due to the FIA Formula 2 Championship taking over the supports pit lane at Albert Park, the Supercars paddock will now be a closed off area.

Despite the protests, it would appear to be a disappointing result as Supercars would claim it would be one of the biggest draw cards of the event that is attracting record-breaking crowds.

This section will be located in the infield between the final turns 13 and 14 complex, in a similar position to where F3 was located last year.

To add a further logistical challenge, the transporters will remain on the other side of the track out near gate 10 between turns 11 and 12.

Supercars confirmed the news that General Admission ticket holders will not have access to the Supercars paddock unlike in the past.

“The Supercars Paddock Area is not a General Admission Area in 2024, and will require specific passes to access during the event,” read Supercars.com.

“Please check the Australian Grand Prix website or contact teams directly for details.

“Team Transporters will be in the same location as 2023, on the oval outside the precinct area that fans will pass walking into the circuit via Gate 10/behind the Lauda Grandstand.”

Despite the limited access, the category has promised teams will be present at several activations planned around the Albert Park precinct.
