THE track schedule for the Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix at Melbourne’s Albert Park has been released.

Formula 1, 2, and 3 drivers will take to the track for practice and qualifying on Friday 22 March, with F1 sessions spilling over to Saturday afternoon 23 March, before the three category’s feature races on Sunday 24 March, where the F1 headline runs from 3pm.

Australians Oscar Piastri and Daniel Ricciardo are set to line up on the grid for McLaren and the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls respectively, and the young star said he’s looking forward to four “special” days of action.

“Not only is it my home country but to have grown up so close to the track and coming back to my hometown is awesome,” Piastri said.

“It was a pretty crazy race last year but to score my first-ever F1 points in front of a home crowd will stay with me for a long time.

“Even on a Thursday, there are so many people in the grounds and getting involved that it has a festival feel. As drivers, we do feel that.

“We aren’t able to get out to every part of the circuit but that passion is felt and makes a huge difference.”
