Follow the Aussies racing abroad this weekend

As per usual, there’s a healthy contingent of Aussies racing abroad this weekend: Here’s AUTO ACTION’s guide of who’s burning the rubber where.
Calan Williams/Jordan Love – Misano
Williams and Love return to GT action after their efforts at the Spa 24 Hour. This time, they’ll be taking on the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint cup in Misano, Italy.
Williams and his WRT teammates took a brilliant Gold class podium at Spa, following on from their opening podium at Monza, and their Sprint Cup victory at Brands Hatch.
For Love, it’s his second outing with the more unfamiliar shorter format stuff, with the Mercedes AMG Junior Factory driver juggling his endurance calendar with Haupt Racing in the prestigious Sprint Cup.

Broc Feeney/Andrew Macpherson/Ben Porter – Suzuka
Across the other side of the world, the Aussie GT action continues at the GT World challenge Asia at Suzuka Circuit, with the T8 Supercars star joining up with Prince Abdul Ibrahim in the Triple Eight Engineering/JMR Mercedes AMG.
In the Am class, Macpherson and Porter look to continue their push toward another GT WCA title in their Porsche 911 GT3 R (991.1).

Feeney and the Prince will reunite for T8 and JMR to take on the Suzuka Circuit
Will Power/Lochie Hughes – Toronto
Will Power looks to back up his IndyCar podium from Mid-Ohio at the lively and always entertaining Toronto street circuit. Although it’s unlikely Power will defend his crown against the runaway Alex Palou, he’s making his way back up the table after two podiums in three races.
Lochie Hughes will also be taking on the Toronto track in the USF2000 IndyCar feeder series, and he’ll be looking to regain the championship lead against his rival Simon Sikes.

Lochie Hughes is looking to take his second straight championship in America in the USF2000 series
After leading the championship for much of the year with four wins, Hughes has two rounds left to try and claim the huge $433,200 USD scholarship to step up into the USF Pro ranks under paid sponsorship.
James Allen/Andres Latorre Canon/Fraser Ross/George Nakas/Scott Andrews – Paul Ricard
The second round of the European Le Mans Series returns with the 4 Hours of Le Castellet.
Allen will look to back up his second straight 24 Hours of Le Mans CLASS victory with Algarve Pro Racing in the LMP2 stakes, whilst the other trio will take on the LMP3 field.

James Allen will look to capitalise on his 24 Hours of Le Mans class win in the ELMS series
Nakas and Fraser are competing in their first European season in their Dutton Garage sponsored Graff Racing Ligier machine, whistle Latorre Canon will be racing with Inter Europol Competition, as all three try and get a win on the board after coming up short in the 24 Hours of Le Mans support races.
Andrews hopes to continue his consistent form for United Autosports in the #22 Ligier JS P320 LMP3 he shares with American Gerald Kraut.
After finishing 24th at Barcelona and 11th in round two, the pair found their form in the third race at Circuit de la Sarthe where they scored a solid fifth.
It threw Andrews and Kraut into the top 10 of the championship and they hope to keep their momentum going at Paul Ricard.
Taylor Gill – Dan Brkic – Austria
After Gill and his co-driver Dan Brkic took out Round 1 of the FIA Rally Star in San Marino, they look to go back to back in Austria at the Rally Weiz, as they look to qualify for a spot in next year’s WRC Junior field.

Gill will make his tarmac debut at Austria’s Rally Weiz
Remy Gardner – Imola
Gardner will be looking to bounce back in the World SuperBike Championship in Imola, Italy, after a disappointing round at Donington in England where he finished 10th, 15th and 12th.
It hasn’t been an easy year for the former MotoGP rider in the new GYTR GRT Yamaha team, with his teammate Dominique Aegerter getting the better of the Aussie in 2023.

Gardner will look to take his first WSBK podium at Imola this weeknd
James McFadden/Jamie Veal/Lachlan McHugh/Ian and Kerry Madsen – Ohio
Last but not least, these five Aussies are competing today and tomorrow night (US time) for the biggest cash prize ever offered in Sprintcar racing….$1,002,023 USD.
The Eldora Millions at the Eldora Speedway is the second biggest cash prize on offer anywhere in motorsport in 2023, second only to the Indy 500.

Veal, McHugh and Ian and Kerry Madsen were consistent as always in the Aussie Sprintcar season, with McHugh having been competing in the states for the last month.
McFadden in the meantime is having his most successful winning season in the World of Outlaws against the world’s best week in and week out. Despite his year being up and down, the NT star has taken four wins in ’23 for Roth Motorsport, and will head to Eldora confident of challenging.

We’re back to normal after a few weeks on the road and this week we look at Supercars from Townsville and F1 from Silverstone, plus a little more.
Ford has finally won a race in the 2023 #Supercars Championship, but was it more the perfect storm for Anton De Pasquale or was it the parity changes. And what about #SVG, did he leave his heart in Dixie?
Then there is Auto Action’s very own Oscar Piastri and his stunning performance in Silverstone in a car one step behind his teammate in evolution. Yes Max won, but really, who cares anymore? Even he must be bored by now.
