Supercars fans to run to paradise at The Bend

Supercars will not be the only big name act in town when it goes racing at The Bend Motorsport Park in August.
For the South Australian circuit’s seventh Supercars round, iconic Australian rock band The Choirboys will be putting on a show after the chequered flag falls.
The Choirboys and Kingswood will perform at the “Rocking the Murray” concert, which coincides with the eighth round of the 2023 Supercars Championship season.
Formed in 1979, The Choirboys is most famous for its single ‘Run To Paradise’ which peaked at #3 on the Australian weekly charts in 1988, while other major hits include ‘Boys Will Be Boys’ and “Never Going To Die”.

The Choirboys are coming to The Bend in August.
Kingswood is also on a high, coming to The Bend off the back of their album “Home” which hit #1 on the ARIA Australian country charts in February.
The Supercars annual trip to the dedicated race track at Tailem Bend is fast approaching, with just July’s Townsville 500 and Sydney SuperNight to go.
One driver who is looking forward to the on-track challenge and off-track entertainment is Todd Hazelwood.

Todd Hazelwood is looking forward to racing on home turf at The Bend.
The South Australian native will race a Ford at The Bend for the first time having previously raced Holdens for Matt Stone Racing and Brad Jones Racing in the past.
Hazelwood cannot wait to see how the tricky Gen3 cars go tackling the aero-dependant Bend circuit.
“Having just finished up in Darwin, there’s only two more stops on the calendar until we’re back in South Australia at The Bend to put on a show for all the local fans in my hometown,” he said.
“It’s going to be incredibly interesting for everyone involved to see how the new spec GEN3 Supercar rolls out at The Bend.”
When Supercars arrive at The Bend, the field hopes to catch Shane van Gisbergen after he won all three races last year.
Van Gisbergen has the chance to become the most successful driver ever at the circuit, being currently tied with Scott McLaughlin with five wins each.
The 2023 The Bend SuperSprint will be held on August 18-20.
In October The Bend Dragway will also be opened, kicking off the National Drag Racing Championship.

It originated from the Australian Touring Car Championship (ATCC), which held its first race in 1960 at Gnoo-Blas in Orange, New South Wales. The ATCC evolved over the years, and in 1997, it was rebranded as the V8 Supercars Championship, eventually becoming the Supercars Championship we know today.
Some of the leading drivers in the history of the Supercars Championship include Peter Brock, who is often referred to as the "King of the Mountain" for his nine victories at the Bathurst 1000, a race that is considered one of the biggest in the series. Other notable drivers include Dick Johnson, Marcos Ambrose, Craig Lowndes, Shane van Gisbergen, Jamie Whincup, who holds the record for the most championship titles, and Mark Skaife, who has also been a dominant force in the series.
The Bathurst 1000, held at Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales, is arguably the most famous race in the Supercars calendar. Other significant races include the Sandown 500 and the Adelaide 500, which are known for their challenging circuits and thrilling competitions.
