Corvette Z06 lands in Melbourne

The first factory-built right-hand drive Corvette Z06 to reach Australia has been revealed, and will travel the country in 2023.

It will now take to the streets of Melbourne in the coming weeks after it was recently unveiled at the GMSV headquarters in Port Melbourne.

“The Z06 will be on the road around Melbourne and its surrounds over coming weeks,” Said Greg Rowe, Director of GM Specialty Vehicles.

The Z06 features an all-new naturally aspirated LT6 5.5L DOHC V-8 engine

“Corvette fans and performance car enthusiasts are welcome to stop and grab a photo when they see this amazing new model.”

Corvette Z06: all-new features

The Corvette Z06 also features an all-new naturally aspirated LT6 5.5L DOHC V-8 engine with an all-new flat-plane crankshaft design with 8,600rpm.

The 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is powered by the 5.5L LT6 engine, the highest horsepower, naturally-aspirated production V-8 to hit the market.

The enhanced track performance ability is also matched with greater braking capability, with larger 14.6-inch-diameter (370mm) front, and 15-inch diameter (380mm) rear Brembo rotors.

It also features six-piston front callipers, compared to four-piston callipers on the Stingray, with 20-inch forged aluminium ‘Spider’ wheels at the front.

Includued with the 21 inch at the rear, they are the largest wheels ever made available on a production Corvette.

Inside the Cabin of the Z06 Corvette

The tech-laden driver focused cockpit relays all vehicle related information quickly and concisely.

This includes a steering wheel laid with carbon fibre and carbon fibre shift paddles.

It has GT2 bucket seats with Napa leather upholstery, and leather wrapped interior door and instrument panels.

“Our new show car will also feature the Z07 Performance Package, which makes it even more eye-catching,” Rowe continued.

“Its performance will be enhanced with the addition of larger brakes with carbon ceramic rotors.

“As well as carbon fibre aerodynamic elements it has unique suspension tuning, ultra performance tyres, and optional carbon fibre wheels.

“This new Z06 is indicative of what customers in Australia and New Zealand can expect from a MY24 Z06, as we will be offering 3LZ trim as standard.”
