Top Fuel Australia has released a message following the passing of driver Sam Fenech, who tragically lost his life at the Willowbank Raceway yesterday evening.
The Pro Slammer Chevrolet Camaro lost control after hitting the middle barrier and flipping onto the other side of the track, where the veteran driver died on the scene.
A camera operator was also hospitalised with non-life threatening injuries after the airborne Camaro crashed into a camera tower.
Paramedics attempted to revive the popular driver in front of a shocked crowd, with the New Year meeting then being called off.
Auto Action extends its sincere condolences to Sam’s wife Natalie and his three children, friends, and to the team at Fabietti Racing and ACDelco.
