Frosty to swap to familiar colours

For the first time in his Team 18 career Mark Winterbottom will race with some new colours in the 2023 Supercars Championship.
Having been backed by IRWIN across his first four years at the Charlie Schwerkolt led team, Winterbottom will race in DEWALT colours next season.
Stanley Black & Decker have supported Team 18 since 2018 and it has swapped brands from IRWIN to DEWALT on the #18 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
Winterbottom’s car appearing in the black and gold scheme could confuse Supercars fans with his teammate Scott Pye having raced in DEWALT warpaint in his first two years at Team 18 and as recently as last year.

“Frosty” managed to hold onto P9 in the championship at the season ending VALO Adelaide 500 with a consistent season and he hopes a new sponsor can push him even further up the leaderboard in 2023.
“It’s great for the team to continue our journey with Stanley Black and Decker in 2023 and going forwards into the Gen3 era of the Supercars Championship,” Winterbottom said.
“I can’t wait to see the new DEWALT Racing Camaro hit the track next year.
“Our preparation for Gen 3 has been ongoing for a while, but it’s really ramped up after the season finished in Adelaide as new parts arrive on the door every day.
“It was good for us to work our way into the top ten of the championship by the end of the year, but Gen3 is a full reset for the championship and a whole new approach to driving a Supercar.
“We’ll be working as hard as we can to capitalise on the fresh start in the new year and be a contender in 2023.”

Winterbottom has been racing full time in Supercars since 2004, but new major sponsors have not come around too often.
Across stints at Larkham Motorsport and Ford Performance Racing, “Frosty” raced in sleek Orrcon colours in nine of his first 10 Supercars seasons.
Pepsi Max and Bottle-O then both backed Winterbottom for three years each at the Tim Edwards led Ford squad before he switched allegiances for the first time in 2018.
Ever since the 2015 champion and 2013 Bathurst 1000 winner arrived car #18 has been easy to spot in IRWIN blue and yellow, but now it will have some new paint.

Team 18 owner Schwerkolt said the change from IRWIN to DEWALT is a continuation of a strong five-year partnership.
“The partnership between Stanley Black & Decker and Team 18 is the combination of two teams who share the same drive for innovation and performance,” he said.
“We are incredibly proud to continue our partnership with a leading global organisation in Stanley
Black & Decker, ever since their first involvement with Sidchrome in 2018.
“We are looking forward to continuing to work together as we enter an exciting new phase for the Supercars Championship next year.”
Winterbottom will race in DEWALT colours for the first time at the Newcastle 500 on March 10-12 2023.
