MULTIPLE INJURIES FOR TONY QUINN

Racing veteran Tony Quinn has suffered a suspected broken leg and fractures to his ribs following a big crash on the opening lap of today’s Porsche Carrera Cup race.

Quinn, driving the Local Legends sponsored Porsche crashed heavily into the Turn 10 concrete wall at incredible speed on the opening lap.

Although replays only caught the end of the crash, it was reported by onlookers at the circuit that Quinn hit the inside wall which fired the car into the outside wall at an obscure angle, no other drivers were involved in the crash.

Immediately following the crash the medical team arrived on the scene, Quinn was then carefully and safely extracted from the car and placed in an ambulance.

From there Quinn was transported to Townsville University Hospital, where he is being treated by medical staff.

It is there where medical checks of Quinn have identified a suspected broken leg and fractures to his ribs on the left-hand side, it is also believed he has a punctured lung.

As AUTO ACTION writes this story doctors at the Townsville hospital are awaiting the results to officially determine the 64-year-olds injuries.

According to the medical staff at the hospital, Quinn is in a stable condition and will remain there under observation.
