SATURDAY NIGHT SPEEDSERIES ACTION ON 9GEM

By Dan McCarthy

The fourth round of the SpeedSeries takes place this weekend at Sydney Motorsport Park and two hours of night racing will be shown live and free on 9Gem.

From 5.30pm-7.30pm on Saturday night, racing action from SMP will be broadcast live onto free-to-air TV.

It is the first time that the SpeedSeries has been shown on Gem since Saturday’s first round action in Tasmania.

Included in the two hours of Saturday night coverage are the opening races of TCR Australia, the S5000 Australian Drivers’ Championship and the National Trans Am Series.

All three races will be held in twilight and night time conditions, with the Sydney circuit lit up with its superb permanent track lighting systems.

The free-to-air coverage on 9GEM will be aired from 5:30pm on Saturday evening, with the broadcast will leading straight into the Super Rugby Pacific match between the NSW Waratahs and the Blues.

The coverage on 9Gem compliments the ad-free, live and on demand coverage of the SpeedSeries seen on Stan Sport.

The Stan Sport coverage kicks off on Saturday at 11:30am and runs through until 7:30pm AEST, the telecast concludes on Sunday with racing being shown from 11am-5pm AEST.

The SpeedSeries round will feature seven racing categories, headlined by TCR, S5000 and Trans Am, they will be joined by the ever-popular Touring Car Masters, the Porsche Sprint Challenge, Radical Cup Australia, Production Cars and the Prototype Series.
