General Admission (Sunday Park Pass) tickets for race day at this year’s Australian Grand Prix have sold out.

The return of Formula 1 action to Melbourne has seen a huge demand for tickets for the event, with a Sunday crowd somewhere between 120,000 – 130,000 patrons expected once grandstands and corporate facilities numbers are finalized.

Just yesterday, Australian Grand Prix Corporation issued a statement encouraging fans to get their tickets quick to avoid disappointment.

“To avoid disappointment, if you’re a fan that wants to attend on Sunday, I recommend you purchase your tickets without delay, so you don’t miss out.” said Andrew Westacott, AGPC CEO.

“The expectation of a ‘Sunday sellout’ is very likely to push Saturday crowds to in excess of 100,000.”

“While Sunday is looking very likely to sell out soon, there are still tickets available for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. With the best in food, music family entertainment accompanying thrilling racing, there’s something for everyone right across the four days.”

“Friday will be the first time Formula 1 cars are on track in Melbourne in three years, while Saturday will see a hotly-contested qualifying session.”

“Daniel Ricciardo has performed very strongly at testing in Barcelona, and we can’t wait to see him racing in Melbourne, let alone in a McLaren for the first time.”

“When the pandemic hit, the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix was one of the first major events in the world to be cancelled and now it’s shaping up for a massive comeback.”

With Sunday’s Park Pass allocation now sold out, it’s expected that Saturday’s crowd will also exceed 100,000 with a record crowd for the Australian Grand Prix on the cards.

The event will take place between April 7-10 at Melbourne’s Albert Park.
