FAMILIAR LOOK FOR YAMAHA AS SEVERAL MOTOGP TEAMS REVEAL 2022 COLOURS

The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team have revealed a the familiar look that the team will run for the 2022 season, as livery reveals ramp up ahead of official MotoGP preseason testing.
While the championship winning team has only made subtle changes to its predominantly blue and black design, a theme across the manufacturer squads, the satellite teams have made a significant attempt to stand out this year.
Yamaha will continue with primary backing from Monster Energy, mixing the two brands iconic colours on the bikes that will be ridden by 2021 champion Fabio Quartararo and fellow factory rider Franco Morbidelli.

“The winter break was quite long, but if I’m honest I feel like I kept busy the whole time.” said Quartararo.
“There were many events for me to attend, and of course training continued as normal – so all in all it was quite busy, but in a good way.”
“I’m excited to begin the new season and start riding and improving. We got the title last year, and that’s great. Nobody can ever take that away from me, but as of the first day of riding, none of that matters anymore.”
“Last year’s title win is behind us now, we must focus on this year’s championship. Last year we barely did any pre-season testing due to the pandemic.”
“This year I already have a year of experience with the Factory Team, so we know how to work well together. We know our strengths and where we can improve, so that will help during the tests in Sepang and Mandalika.”
Fellow factory squads Ducati and Suzuki have also taken a similar approach to their 2022 designs. Only making subtle changes to their liveries from last year.

The Suzuki’s of Joan Mir and Alex Rins, whose livery was also unveiled overnight, will continue with their familiar blue and grey design.
For Ducati, their official presentation was delayed until February 7th, following Jack Miller testing positive to COVID prior to heading over to join the team ahead of the launch. However the team did reveal their 2022 design on social media.
Miller has since been cleared and has joined the team in Malaysia.
Standing out front he crowd is satellite Ducati squad, Pramac Racing, who have revealed a bold new look on the bikes that Johann Zarco and Jorge Martín will ride during the upcoming season.

The test of the MotoGP teams will reveal their liveries for 2022 over the next few days with Repsol Honda scheduled to reveal theirs on February 8th.
Satellite team LCR Honda will follow suit on February 9th. While Aprilia will unveil their colours on the 10th.
Official MotoGP preseason testing gets underway today (February 5th) at the Sepang International Circuit.
