Due to high demand for tickets at this year’s Australian Grand Prix, organisers have announced there will be an additional five grandstands built.

These five brand-new grandstands will be scattered around the track, offering views of both the newly reconfigured section of the Albert Park circuit and the unaltered original layout.

The new high-speed section of the circuit contains a new grandstand, as well as catering for more general admission fans.

This includes the new zone between the new Turn 8 and 9 which has been created as a result of removing the chicane on the Lakeside Drive portion of the circuit.

New Grandstands will be constructed at Turn 5, Turn 8, between Turn 8 and 9 (along the new high-speed zone), Turn 11 and Turn 12.

As well as this, the Waite Grandstand will also be expanded to cater for more fans.

As reported by AUTO ACTION, ticket demand for the Australian Grand Prix in 2022 has been exceptionally high and has led to this decision.

Australian Grand Prix Corporation General Manager Marketing and Experiences, Arthur Gillion expressed his delight at the interest in the race set for April.

“We’re blown away by the incredible enthusiasm ahead of the Formula 1 Heineken Australian Grand Prix 2022,” he said.

“This year’s event is on track to be the best Melbourne has ever seen and we cannot wait to welcome crowds back to Albert Park.”

“Not only will these additional Grandstands allow more people to experience the Formula 1 Heineken Australian Grand Prix 2022’s electrifying atmosphere, they also offer new and exciting views of a faster and more competitive Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit.”

The additional Grandstand tickets will go on sale at 10:00am AEDT tomorrow morning (Tuesday, 8 February 2022), while the general admission (Park Pass) tickets and packages are available now.
