BATHURST 1000 TICKETS ON SALE

By Dan McCarthy

This afternoon the remaining tickets for this year’s Bathurst 1000 went up for sale.

Prior to today a pre-sale has taken place for people who had bought tickets for the 2020 ‘Great Race,’ these fans were given preferential treatment as Supercars was restricted to a minuscule crowd number at the event last year.

A large majority were unable to attend due to crowd restrictions, while Victorians were in the middle of their lengthy lockdown.

The pre-sale is now over, and tickets are now on sale to everyone with tickets still remaining for stands and campsites all around the 6.213km Mount Panorama circuit.

All eight campsites have free spaces, McPhillamy, Reid and Sulman Park, The Orchard, The Chase, The Enduro, Max Cameron, The Paddock and Motorhome.

At the bottom of the mountain, grandstand seats are available along pit straight, as well as the cover grandstand at Hell Corner (Turn 1).

Supercars will continue to liaise with the NSW Government regarding the COVID safe plan of the event.

Bathurst 1000 event manager Rachael White said it is great camping at the Bathurst 1000 once more.

“Getting our dedicated Campers, who’ve been coming to Bathurst for decades, back to the track for this year’s Great Race has been a priority for us all,” White said.

“This year we are also bringing back grandstand seating at the bottom of the mountain, where fans stand and cheer as the new King of the Mountain is crowned.”

As there was at the season opening Bathurst 500 event merchandise stalls will scattered around for fans inside the precinct.

As it was last year, the race at the legendary Mount Panorama Circuit will be the sole endurance round of the campaign.

After winning the Bathurst 1000 last year and the two sprint races at the start of the 2021 season, Shane van Gisbergen will be looking to win his fourth race in succession at The Mountain.

Van Gisbergen will again pair up with Garth Tander for a third straight season as they attempt to defend their Bathurst 1000 crown.

It will also be the last time that Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup team up together in the race as the latter retires from full-time Supercars competition.

Former winners Greg Murphy and Russell Ingall make there highly anticipated return.

Former Bathurst 1000 winning combination David Reynolds and Luke Youlden will join forces once more, this time with Kelly Racing.

Other former winners of the ‘Great Race’ include Chaz Mostert, Nick Percat, Will Davison and Mark Winterbottom.
