MARC MARQUEZ CUTS LAPS IN BARCELONA

Six-time MotoGP champion Marc Marquez continues to make steps towards his scheduled MotoGP comeback which is now just eight days away.
Marquez posted videos to social media of him riding a Honda RC213V-S road bike around the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
This marks the first time in eight months that the 28-year-old has driven a motorbike around a grand prix circuit.
The factory Honda rider injured his right humerus in the opening round of the 2020 MotoGP season after a heavy landing at Jerez in Spain.
The Spaniard was making up lost ground from an early race mistake and with a handful of laps to go Marquez was launched into the air in a spectacular high side.
Marquez came crashing down to earth, with the impact and subsequent hit from the bike damaging his right humurus.
Miraculously Marquez was set to return in the second round, however in practice experienced severe pain.
It was found that the plate inserted in his humurus to strengthen his arm and speed up the recovery process had snapped, this breakage caused several delays and further operations ruled Marquez out for the remainder of the 2020 season.
Due to the extent of the damage and constant setbacks, Marquez has been unable to ride a motorbike competitively since and was even forced to miss the pre-season test in Qatar.
Earlier this week Marquez got back on the saddle and completed laps on a mini motorbike and now with less than 10 days until the opening round, the preparation has stepped up a notch.
MotoGP riders have been known to ride Superbikes to get themselves into shape ahead of pre-season testing and the Honda RC213V-S road bike is the Japanese brands weapon of choice.
Since it was released in 2015, many Honda riders have turned to the Honda RC213V-S as a training bike.
Despite of its prototype appearance and V4 soundtrack the machine is much more of a road bike than a MotoGP monster.
Marquez is the most recent rider to step onto the machine as he fights to be as fit as possible for the season opening event at Qatar which takes place next week from March 26-28.
