Ahead of the opening round of the 2021 TCR Australia Series Luke King completed his very first drive of his Audi RS3 LMS TCR machine.

By DAN McCARTHY

The former Toyota 86 Racing Series runner-up drove the Melbourne Performance Centre prepared Audi at Winton Motor Raceway in country Victoria.

Soon after his car Audi was put on a ship and sent to the Apple Isle for the Race Tasmania events which begins off tomorrow at Symmons Plains.

It was a near trouble free day for the 30-year-old New South Welshman who under clear blue skies was able to complete dozens of laps around the 3km circuit.

King was unable to compete in the pre-season TCR test at Phillip Island last week but was able to squeeze in the private test at Winton before the opening round.

At the Phillip Island test his car was shaken down by former Supercars driver Cameron McConville.

King’s laps of the Winton circuit will be extremely valuable come the opening round of the season.
