The MARC II V8 chassis nicknamed “Farnham” was previously the MARC Cars Australia factory run machine owned by Geoff Taunton and is the first to make the trip across the Tasman.

Well-known New Zealand squad Collins Motorsport will run the Mustang which will be raced in the South Island Endurance Series and the BNT V8 Series.

MARC Cars Australia owner Geoff Taunton is sad to let his machine go but is excited for its debut in New Zealand.

Despite the fact it will be the first Marc car in New Zealand, Taunton is confident that on the racetrack it will turn heads and as a result orders for more MARC cars will follow.

“As sad as it is to say goodbye to my car, I am excited to see it out on track over in New Zealand. It will definitely put on a great show and the Collins Motorsport team won’t be disappointed by its ability.” Taunton said.

“We have already pressed go on a new chassis to replace it so we will be putting this car together over the next few months to get it ready to race next year.”

The container containing the MARC car and appropriate spares will arrive in New Zealand in several weeks. Collins Motorsport hopes to spend some time testing and familiarizing themselves with the car before running it at it’s first race event.
