Brad Binder will serve a long lap penalty in the next MotoGP race at Valencia after it was deemed the KTM rider was solely at fault for contact resulting in Jack Miller’s retirement in the Teruel GP at Aragon.

Binder contacted the rear of Miller’s Ducati at the second corner on the opening lap, which sent both tumbling through the gravel trap.
Both were uninjured, but Binder will serve a long lap penalty at the European Grand Prix in a fortnight’s time.
Post-race Binder accepted full responsibility after being caught out by the compression of the field at Turn 2.
“I got through Turn 1 and I was really tight on the inside and I prepared to carry a lot of speed through Turn 2,” Binder explained in the post-race press conference.
“I didn’t take into account at all that everyone would close the gas, because of a lot of guys coming super tight from Turn 1 so a big, big mistake on my behalf again.”
Binder expressed his disappointment with the incident, apologising to both Miller and Pramac post-race.
“I’m really sorry to Jack and Pramac Ducati, if I could go back now I’d change things for sure,” he said.
“It’s really, really not a good day. Whenever things happen like this it’s never on purpose but I’m just going to have to try and reset and try again next time.”
It capped off a weekend to forget for the Australian, who qualified down in 14th in what has been a tough period for him.
“Well it wasn’t a tough race,” Miller said. “I only did two corners, well not even, one and a half corners, so that wasn’t too bad.
“Just the end of not a great weekend, we gave everything we had and I felt like we’d got a decent start, but yeah, just unfortunate.
“It is what it is, it’s hard to be overly disappointed or anything like that, it’s just one of those things, this is racing we’ll come back ready to fight in Valencia.”
Miller sits ninth in the points, 55-points behind championship leader, Suzuki’s Joan Mir.
