REPCO RELIABILITY TRAIL 40TH ANNIVERSARY REUNION

Repco Reliability Trial 40th Anniversary Reunion
2019 marks the 40th anniversary of the toughest ever round Australia trial, the 1979 Repco Reliability Trial.
As such, the Victorian Historic Rally Association is organising a reunion lunch on Saturday, August 17 2019 for those who were in any way involved: competitors, service crews, officials, sponsors.

Stewart McLeod
Organised by South Australian rally star Stewart McLeod and with the course set by Australian Champion Frank Kilfoyle, competitors were promised a tough event.
They didn’t know how tough! Rest breaks were minimal and the event schedule was so demanding many service crews could not keep up with the cars they were servicing.

Frank Kilfoyle
Of the 180 cars that started, only thirteen completed the whole course. The winner was Peter Brock, who led a triumphant Holden 1-2-3 clean sweep in the newly released Commodores.
The function will be a carvery lunch, cost $50 per head with drinks at bar prices to be held at the Melbourne Bowling Club, 138 Union St Windsor, corner of Bowling Green Street. The bar will stay open for those who want to continue reminiscing after lunch.
The venue is close to Windsor Railway Station, trams, and with a number of public parking areas within close walking distance.
Various videos of the event will be shown during the day and there will be interviews with selected competitors about their experiences.
Already five complete crews from competing cars have said they will come, along with stars like Matt Philip (Brock’s co-driver in the winning car), Jim Reddiex and Jeff Beaumont who were with Andrew Cowan in a Citroen, and Bob Watson and Garry Harrowfield who finished 11th in a Peugeot 504 diesel.
If you would like to be part of this special occasion or would like more information visit the Historic Rally Association or contact Bob Watson call on 0427 201 158.
