Super2 series leader Bryce Fullwood has been confirmed as a co-driver alongside Andre Heimgartner in the #7 Kelly Racing Nissan Altima for the Pirtek Enduro Cup.

2019 will be Fullwood’s second endurance campaign after he paired up alongside Todd Hazelwood in the #35 Matt Stone Racing Commodore during the Pirtek Enduro Cup last year.

The Darwin born driver races an MW Motorsport Nissan Altima in the Super2 series and was an obvious choice for Kelly Racing to sign. Fullwood is looking forward to the opportunity and learning off the experienced Supercars team.

“I’m really looking forward to the enduro season, obviously with Kelly Racing it’s a big operation and they’ve been in it a long time,” Fullwood told Auto Action.

“I’m keen to learn from their experience, try and take a few things away for myself and apply them to my Super2 Series,” he said.

Despite driving a Nissan Altima all season in Super2 Fullwood has completed very few dry laps in Heimgartner’s Nissan after it suffered a mechanical failure during the co-driver session in Tasmania and due to rain falling early at Winton Motor Raceway, but Fullwood is not phased.

“I drove it (Heimgartner’s car) a little bit at Tassie but I only did four laps in that car, it had issues and I had to pull in and that’s when I hopped in Ricks car, so I haven’t done a lot of running in Andre’s car.” he said.

“I’m not too stressed because Andre is doing a good job in it, so the car is obviously fast and I feel like I’m capable enough to do it, I think the speed will show when we need it to.”

Fullwood feels that the speed was in the car when he drove in the Supercars session had he not been held up in the co-driver session when the circuit was dry, this is a positive sign for the 21-year-old heading into the Pirtek Enduro Cup.

“P9 for the session, it was pretty tough, I was being held up quite a fair bit for the first four corners of the track. I think we were quite speedy but got held up from there on, the car feels good,” he said.
