Australian Junior Karting Champion, Broc Feeney will become one of the youngest drivers to ever line up in the Australian Toyota 86 Racing Series this April.

Gold Coaster Feeney, just 15 years of age, has taken delivery of the Toyota 86 that fellow young gun, Will Brown successfully used to transition from karts to circuit racing.

He’s aiming to build on the momentum of last season, which saw him crowned Champion of the premier national Junior Karting Championship – KA2, along with representing Australia at a number of international events in France, Portugal and the USA throughout October and November.

The six round, single-make Toyota 86 Racing Series supports the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship, beginning at Victoria’s Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit over the weekend of April 20-22.

“The Toyota 86 Racing Series is one of the most competitive and cost effective categories of racing in Australia and I’m excited that I have this opportunity to join the Series and use it as a platform for my career in the sport,” said Feeney.

“The Toyota 86 racing is always entertaining and with the television package and interest in the category, it provides an excellent springboard to transition into circuit racing from karting, to learn the circuits and be backed up by a professional organisational team and company like Toyota.

“We had a sensational 2017 which saw me earn the opportunity to race internationally in karts and be right up the front at the ROK International Final and the Vegas Supernats.

“April can’t come quick enough.”

Entering its third season, the Toyota 86 Racing Series has quickly built to be a proving ground for young talent on the Australian motorsport scene. Feeney aims to take full advantage of the platform to advance his career.

The Series carries live television coverage of every session and race on Fox Sports as part of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship events with support coverage from Network Ten.

Feeney will back up his Toyota 86 Racing Series efforts with an entry in the KA1 Australian Karting Championship that sees him move into Senior racing this year.

The youngster’s Toyota 86 campaign will be operated by the Paul Feeney Group, which extends its commitment to grassroots motorsport. PFG is currently the Australian importer of Vortex Karting engines and Bridgestone Kart Tyres.

Paul Feeney, Broc’s father, was the former Australian distributor for Husqvarna, Cagiva and MV Agusta Motorcycles, along with operating the MV Agusta factory Superbike team.
