GINETTA UNVEIL NEW WEC LMP1 CONTENDER

Ginetta has used the Autosport International show in Birmingham to unveil its new LMP1 contender, the Ginetta G60-LT-P1, for the 2018/2019 World Endurance Championship.
TRS Racing Manor has already committed to running one of the Ginetta G60-LT-P1’s in the upcoming WEC season, with the British marque indicating it had an additional three orders for the new car.
Ginetta has committed to building 10 chassis in the initial production run, although is open to building more subject to demand.
“I’m delighted to finally be able to unveil our latest machine to the motorsport industry, and what better time than at the start of our 60th year of manufacturing.” said Lawrence Tomlinson, Chairman of Ginetta at the unveiling.
“Ginetta has a long history of international success in with the G55 GT4, LMP3 and G57. The LMP1 will be a strong contender in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and at Le Mans.
“We have a great team of Design Engineers in Leeds, have worked with some excellent partners on the project, and can’t wait to show you what the LMP1 is made of out on track.”
Ginetta will join a privateer resurgence in the LMP1 class alongside BR Engineering/Dallara, ByKolles, Rebellion Racing/ORECA, with the Toyota the only factory team involved.
The 2018/2019 WEC season commences with the Spa 6 Hours in May.
