Australian Jack Doohan is one of four karters that have been signed to Red Bull’s Junior Team program for 2018.

The son of five time 500cc (MotoGP) champion Mick Doohan, will step up to British F4 in 2018 with the Arden International, the same team that fellow young Aussie Oscar Piastri finished runner up with this year.

“I’m really looking forward to being part of the Arden team as a Red Bull Junior Driver in the 2018 F4 British Championship.” said Doohan.

“To drive for a team as well-respected and successful as Arden in 2018 is something I could have only dreamt of at the start of 2017 when I arrived in Europe to compete in karts. My experience gained in karts from the age of eight has provided me with a solid foundation, but it’s now time to take my motorsport career to the next level.”

The Australian will have plenty of experience to draw upon when he steps up to cars, being mentored by Scotsman Dave Boyce, who also looks after Formula 3 European Championship racer Harrison Newey (son of famed F1 designer Adrian Newey).

14 year old Doohan, has already had some time behind the wheel of an Formula 4 car, completing his first test last week at Snetterton alongside fellow Red Bull Junior Dennis Hauger who will also join the Arden team. Their testing program is scheduled to continue at Croft next week.
