Dunlop Super2 racer, Anton de Pasquale, will get a chance to sample Supercars main series equipment when he tests Erebus Motorsport’s Holden Commodore.

Erebus will use a driver evaluation at Winton Motor Raceway next week to see how de Pasquale adapts to the newer car.

Anton de Pasquale currently sits fourth Dunlop Super2 Series, having returned from Europe where he won the Formula Renault 1.6 NEC Championship.

“It’s a great opportunity to learn, understand what it takes, and at the same time get some really good miles in a competitive car,” de Pasquale said.

“The only way to learn is to surround yourself with people who know more and have more experience; just having that opportunity to work with a team who is lot larger and has more resources will be really beneficial, but also seeing what the top-level driver does.

“It’s invaluable experience for myself moving forward and will really help me understand how I can do better.”

Erebus General Manager Barry Ryan is excited to give the young talent the opportunity.

“Erebus has always strived to support young guys and enjoyed watching their development,” he said.

“Paul (Morris) is a big supporter of Anton’s and has told me he believes he’s the ‘real deal’, which has a lot of weight coming from someone as experienced as Paul.

“To achieve what he has at only 21, there is no doubting his talent.

“We know what Anton is capable of in his own equipment, but the day will also be a great chance to see how he fits into our team, with our gear.”

David Reynolds will also be on hand, to complete his maximum ten laps for a primary driver before letting de Pasquale take over the reigns of his No. 9 Holden Commodore.

Mobil 1 HSV Racing and Brad Jones Racing will also be testing at Winton on the same day. Nissan Motorsport will also be there to complete a rookie day for Simona de Silvestro, after losing a test day..
