Roger Penske has exited Supercars, multiple credible Auto Action sources insist.

AA has been told the American motor racing mogul has completed a deal since the Bathurst 1000 with team boss Ryan Story to cede his control of the squad.

As a result, DJR Team Penske will revert to its famous former name, Dick Johnson Racing.

DJR is expected to complete the signing of Anton De Pasquale and Will Davison as drivers for next season within days, replacing US-bound Scott McLaughlin and his team-mate Fabian Coulthard.

The signings should trigger multiple other driver movements in the Supercars championship.

There are also suggestions highly-rated engineer Ludo Lacroix will exit the squad.

Events have moved quickly since the Bathurst 1000, where DJRTP finished fourth and fifth.

Penske bought into DJR in 2014. The revamped squad subsequently won three Supercars drivers’ championship via McLaughlin, three teams’ championships and the 2019 Bathurst 1000.

When contacted by Auto Action, Team Penske spokesman Jeremy Troiano said: “There is nothing to report at this time”.

We’ve also made contact with DJRTP. We’ll update if and when we get a response.
