Honda Racing has announced its driver line-up for the 2020 Intercontinental GT Challenge which begins with the Bathurst 12 Hour.

The Japanese brand will make its 12 Hour debut with the NSX GT3 Evo in the hands of a strong and experienced trio of Dane Cameron, Renger van der Zande and Mario Farnbacher.

Cameron brings a lot of endurance racing knowledge and success as he and former Formula 1 race winner Juan Pablo Montoya impressively took the IMSA Sportscar Series crown in an Acura Team Penske car.

“After such a great year in North America, I was honoured to be asked to represent Honda at the last race of the 2019 IntGTC, and now am even more so to have a larger programme with the NSX GT3 Evo in the series 2020,” Cameron said.

“The speed we had at Kyalami was among the very best and if we can start with the same level of performance in Australia, I think we’re in for a strong season.

“The track action at Bathurst starts less than five days after the end of the 24 Hours of Daytona, so it’s going to be a very busy time for me, but I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

Dutchman van der Zande won the 2019 edition of the Daytona 24 Hours and competed for Honda at Laguna Seca and Spa events. Farnbacher also brings experience driving the car with which he won the IMSA GTD title last year in a NSX GT3 Evo.

At the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps in July the trio will also be joined by Bertrand Baguette.

After missing the opening round of the series in 2019 the Honda team made its debut at the Laguna Seca 8 Hour claiming a shock pole position. However the team struggled to convert this to race pace scoring a season best sixth at Spa.
