DJR Team Penske’s alleged breach of the team order rules at Bathurst will be decided tomorrow (Saturday, October 19).

CAMS has confirmed that the stewards’ hearing into the incident involving Fabian Coulthard, who is accused of backing up the field behind the leaders during a crucial safety car intervention, will be now be conducted before next week’s Gold Coast 600.

It is understood a busy schedule of meetings at next week’s Gold Coast 600 prompted CAMS to move the stewards’ hearing forward.

A decision is expected on Sunday (October 20).

Despite ill-informed speculation, Scott McLaughlin’s victory is not threatened.

However, DJR Team Penske face the possibility of heavy sanctions – including a significant fine and/or loss of Supercars team championship points – if the charge of breaching team order rules is upheld.

In a statement just issued, CAMS announced:

“CAMS can today advise the Stewards Hearing involving Racing Team (Aust) Pty Ltd (DJR Team Penske) regarding the alleged breach of Rule D24.1 at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 will now be held on Saturday.

“The outcome and the publication of the decision will occur on Sunday, 20 October, with the stewards’ summary to be made available on the CAMS website as soon as it is available.”
