DJR Team Penske driver Fabian Coulthard has scored his first victory of the season in what was a dominant display.

Coulthard took advantage of a poor start from teammate Scott McLaughlin to take the lead and was never headed, winning by 11.0281s over Shane van Gisbergen and completing an all-Kiwi podium was McLaughlin.

The championship leader made a poor start and dropped to eighth over the course of the opening lap, while van Gisbergen went the other way and was within sight of the lead.

A longer middle stint and green tyres at the end helped aid van Gisbergen in his pursuit for third, but he didn’t have enough to bridge the gap to Coulthard, who ran a longer stint at the end as the race ran green throughout.

Nissan rounded out the top five with Rick Kelly and Michael Caruso, both failing to have the pace to join the leading scrap.

Scott Pye continued his strong form with sixth ahead of Tim Slade, Jamie Whincup, lead rookie Richie Stanaway and Chaz Mostert.

The championship margin stands at 131 to the advantage of McLaughlin over van Gisbergen heading to Hidden Valley on June 15-17.
