RYAL HARRIS TO MAKE KUMHO SERIES DEBUT

Ryal Harris will make his debut in the Kumho V8 Touring Car Series opening round at Phillip Island.

The most successful driver in the V8 Utes category made the switch to the new SuperUtes series this year. However, the Queenslander is looking forward to stepping up to race in the unofficial third tier Supercars series in the Aussie Driver Search (ADS) FG Falcon.

“I’m very appreciative of the opportunity to drive for Aussie Driver Search in the Kumho series. I’ve had a few races in the Dunlop series and loved it, the aim is to bring the car home in one piece with a good result!”

Harris will join ADS in its first foray in the Kumho V8 Touring Car Series after a successful weekend at the opening round of the Australian GT Championship during the Australian Grand Prix.

Jaie Robson, who won the inaugural ADS in 2016, had a breakthrough debut in the CAMS Australian GT Championship which netted 2 race wins and the overall round win last month.

Harris, who is a judge for the program, feels it is a vital program for motorsport in Australia

“Absolutely love being apart of the program. Kyle and the team have brought something new and exciting and well within reach for aspiring racers.

“This year will be huge and I can’t wait for it to all get underway.”

The Kumho V8 Touring Car Series commences at Phillip Island on April 20-22, running as a support category to the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.
