Porsche Carrera Cup Australia have announced more endurance races as part of their 2018 season, which was also announced today.

The Porsche Wilson Security Carrera Cup Australia Endurance Cup, which debuted at the end of the 2017 season, will be expanded to six 45-minute races in 2018 which will be held across rounds at Phillip Island, Hidden Valley Raceway, The Bend Motorsport Park, Bathurst and the Gold Coast.

Phillip Island will host two of the 45 minute endurance races which will replace the series’ traditional two-driver Pro-Am format, which will not feature in 2018.

Porsche Carrera Cup Asia will also return to Australia in 2018. With the two Porsche series to again hold combined round at Sydney Motorsport Park, which will again feature a blend of separate and joint races.

“Carrera Cup is going from strength to strength and the announcement of the 2018 race calendar certainly adds to the anticipation of the coming season,” said Toni Andreevski, Porsche Cars Australia’s Director of Marketing & Motorsport.

“We’re proud that we will not only have a fully subscribed field of Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars on the grid in 2018, but that we will showcase our ‘sold out’ series in partnership with Wilson Security at some of the best motor racing events in the country.

“The addition of the Endurance Cup was very well received by our customer base this season so, in addition to our strong event line-up, we can build on our endurance focus with more Endurance Cup races throughout the coming season.”

Porsche Carrera Cup teams will get a chance to get familiar with their new 2018-spec Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars at a pre-season test at Sydney Motorsport Park on the 24th of January.

The 2018 season will then commence with the Adelaide 500 in March with the eight round series to wrap up on the streets of the Gold Coast in October.
