2018 WRC CALENDAR ANNOUNCED
The FIA and World Rally Championship (WRC) have announced their calendar for the 2018 season.
Following a meeting of the FIA World Council, the new 2018 WRC schedule will again feature 13 events with the season kicking off in Monte Carlo in January before concluding in Australia in November.
Rally Australia will retain it’s spot as the final round of the WRC in 2018 for the third time in succession, with the title to be decided on the gravel roads around Coffs Harbour.
The only significant change to the calendar is the return of Rally Turkey for first time in seven years, replacing Rally Poland which has had ongoing safety concerns.
Rally Turkey will be based around the holiday resort town of Marmaris in the Turkish Riviera with the gravel event to feature fast to medium-speed special stages, including a mix of smooth open roads and more demanding rocky mountain passes.
The calendar also includes a six-week summer break between the seventh round in Italy before the second half of the season begins in Finland.
